Recognition for brave firefighters

Two firefighters who freed a parachutist from a tree in Dunkeswell were set to receive a chief Fire Officer’s Letter of Commendation yesterday (Monday) evening.
Steve Manley and Wayne Broom were part of a team which came to the rescue of a parachutist who landed in a 50ft high tree on November 12th.
Wayne is a retained firefighter in Honiton and works a full-time job at Dane’s Castle Fire Station in Exeter.
Steve is based at the special operations department in Exeter.
The awards ceremony was scheduled to be held at County Hall, Exeter.
